Hi, I am now scanning, so I need to cut my negatives. The problem is storing them.
Do you save every one? or do you keep only the ones that show promise?
I like the idea of the holders for a 3-ring notebook, but it sure seems like you could have more big books that you would want to deal with!
I have thought of putting them into mailing envelopes.
Freestyle has lots to choose from, any other places good for this?
Thanks, Gary

my current (lazy) preference is to store the strips loosely in boxes and/or in between pages of magazines. Both boxes and magazines are then placed on a high shelf in my closet where they can rain down on me as an occasional reminder that I need to find a better storage solution, perhaps as you mention, from freestyle.

I don't think I'd go for the mailing envelopes - unless they're archival/acid free. I haven't looked for some time, but i do belive you can find archival storage boxes which are large enough to hold sheets of negs instead of strips. Regardless method, I wouldn't toss any unless they're not printable/scanable whatsoever (and you've verified it)

Uh....what ?

I scan too, I store them in special film sleeves and in a binder, labeled with date, film, camera and development info. Yes I'm slightly OCD 🙂

Definitely keep them all! I also feel that it's important to label them with all of the important information, like Lauffray suggests. I do it that way, too ( in sleeves ). I learned the hard way, though, as I got tired of thumbing through various notebooks and sheets of paper simply to figure out how the film was shot and/or developed.
