Storing Vintage Camera equipment- Good and Bad experiences.

Do you use the foam inserts for the Pelican cases? I've seen some of the foam deteriorate over the years and leave a residue on the cameras.
 
I have had good results keeping my gear in a metal Craftsman tool cabinet. The cabinet itself is in my finished basement, where the air conditioning and heating circulates year-round. No fungus, no corrosion in 20 years. The locking cabinet seems to me to be adequate security. I avoid keeping gear for any length of time in cases of any sort, whether Domke, Think Tank, or whatever.
