I still do not understand what the fuzz is all about. It is clearly a chrome M3 (see the paint on the strap lugs) adorned with black paint Leica M3 top and bottom plates and trim. These parts (original or not) were often for sale. Many Leitz agencies over the world had them in stock for many years. The serial number is engraved later, absolutely not in the true Leica style.

A great camera to have and use, but absolutely no collectors piece.
