Strange Rolleiflex hybrid??

Wondering if anyone knows what is going on with this camera on Ebay. The sale is-

but it is ending soon. It's an Automat MX that looks perfectly normal in all its knobs and such, except for this change to the wind side: looks like a hacked Rolleicord wind knob, almost.



Any ideas?

That looks to me like a knob one would pull out to release the film spool. I don't see this particular photo appear on the seller's ad, as the attachment photo on your post is not of the same camera as the one in the seller's ad.

Hmmm.... Ebay has changed how it deals with ended sales listings. My link now takes you to a 'recommended' item since the original is not for sale any longer. That is why the link takes you to a camera different than my image.



The Rolleiflex MX in the listing, the item shown in the photo I attached to my post here, looks like a normal MX in all other views. No Rolleikin counter on the opposite side knob, no solenoids or weird brackets, no glass plate backs or such. Just a normal stock Rolleiflex MX. Except for what looks like a Rolleicord wind knob mechanism with a spool knob scabbed on top instead of the standard fat Rolleicord wind knob.
