I´m doing street for awhile now and don´t usualy ask strangers to take their pic. these are the only few pictures I did ask (out of appox 700 on my stream)

I found a tip I read very usefull to fondle with the camera untill they get bored and don´t make a photosmile anymore and then quickly snap the shot. works for me 🙂
sometimes a smiling pic up close is also really nice!

I often ask for permission to make a photo of people I encounter and like the results. People like to be photographed and, thus, readily show me who they are.

Taking pictures of people without their knowledge, in my opinion, is fraud.

Respectfully, whatever else it may be, taking pictures of people without their knowledge is not, and cannot be, fraud. Fraud implies misrepresenting something, or oneself, for gain; intentionally failing to deliver what is promised; or cheating someone of something by deceit.

Chestnut St, Philadelphia. We were talking about current options for homeless people in Philadelphia, shelters and some churches nearby. He mentioned one of his friends who was the driver for George Wallace when he was governor of Alabama. I had my camera that night and he agreed to this portrait.
