I asked this question a while ago, was recommended the Domke gripper among others. It arrived, and it will not fit. Here it is:

Have I done something wrong? Whatever it is, all help will be very much appreciated, and if you want a picture of the (useless)thing that arrived on my doorstep, I'll give you one.

Many thanks

I have a Domke Gripper on mine but it does not have the swivel and clamp like shown on yours. Mine threads through the "D" rings which came attached to the camera. Perhaps buy a couple of larger "O" rings to attach to the camera body mounts and then clamp the Domke to them?

This is what I use: you can see the metal o spirals on the right side of the B+H pic. That I turned into the strap pin of the body, arranged the leather not to allow body scratches and done.

Your hooks look un-usable, I am afraid. And 2 inches is sooo wide a strap, 1 inch is plenty.

Hooks? There are some in the picture, but none on the crap I received. Do you know where I might get one of what you have? I can find it, but for some bizarre reason only in packs of six.

Before we continue recommending random parts for a unknown strap, please show us a picture of whatever you actually received. The picture in the first posting is of a 1" Domke gripper bag strap. If you have something different, we'd better first of all figure out what.

FWIW - my Domke straps are three-piece affairs. A central 1" wide neckstrap with a "D" ring on each end, and two adjustable length 3/8" wide attaching straps. Each of the latter has a snap swivel on one end (to attach to the neck strap), and an "O"split ring on the other end(to attach to the camera.) Hope this helps.
