Hi RFFers,

I am currently visiting my family in Taipei Taiwan, and I wanted to use this opportunity to document the real lives of the city I grew up in. This city is like everyone other city on the surface, tall buildings, busy streets, and shopping malls everywhere. However, I don't really have much interest in photograph the typical scene.

One morning I over heard that my father is heading to a traditional market (中崙傳統市場) near by, I figured that is a great opportunity for me, not only to document the market, but also spend some time with him. We had great conversation about life and photography, my father not only completely understand why I am interested in street photography, but also gave me some great tips, now I finally know where I got this "hobby" from...

I am not a good writer, so I think a video and some photos will work much better in this case:

Great pictures, I miss the markets of Taiwan, especially the variety in vegetables and seafood, as well as the atmosphere. If you don't mind, I'll post a few of my own, of which only the first two were taken in Taipei, the others somewhere in Yilan.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos and your experience in Taiwan.

I have not been to Yilan for years, my father used to work there for a while and I always wanted to go back some time.
