have you folks been shooting in Berlin? your turn!

#1, 5, and 7 for me ! Very nice, you have a good eye for this kind of photography. Waiting to see what you will do with the 35/1.2 ! :)

Cheers,

Gabor

#4 is very cool. That must have been staged right? The framing and the "portraits" sign... :)

well, it is about 30% staged, I noticed how she (she is my g/f, we were visiting the jewish museum here in berlin) walked right to the middle of the frame - underneath the "portraits" text and next to mr. einsteins portrait - and all I told her was to turn around. she didn't know what this was about, she just turned around and smiled.

thanks everyone! (still no other berlin street shots? =) )

Very nice work Simon. I pretty much like them all except 2 & 3. #4 is very clever. What camera is your girlfriend packing? It looks big (or perhaps she is petite).

Berlin is a wonderful vibrant city. I had a few days there with my wife in 2002 & would go back anytime I had a chance.

I just might do that for a change...could be fun.

Great, great, city by the way...incredible memories and friends there.

You are in *the* place to be right now....and I am sure you know it. THE place for contemporary art and photography, and all avante garde. It's the new Paris..

Best place to be for New Year's Eve too. THE BEST.

In your opinion, how does the Nokton handle color? Not a strength?

Thanks for taking time.

thank you. the camera she's got is a Minolta XE-1, very similar to Leica's R3. just less expensive. and yes it's a bit bulky 'n' big and heavy, but she says she likes it =)

oh, yes I like berlin, somewhat uncommon for a big city. I won't be around for new years eve though, I'll go spend some time with friends in the austrian lower alps then =)

I haven't used the nokton with slide/colour negative film that excessively, and almost everytime I have it was more or less messing around with wicked expired film which does not really give you the right information to draw conclusions about that :D but I kind of liked it, nothing to complain about:

thanks again everyone. still I don't believe I'm the only one with pictures from berlin.

Simon you are my kind of photographer. Needless to say I like your style and your work. (I tend to take discrete snatches of urban detail too. But mine are shot with digital SLRs in the main. I will have to get my M4P out once more as this encourages a more intimate style of working - mine are more "at a certain remove".)

cheers, peter, I dropped you some comments over at flickr =)

Simon, gut gemacht. But I like the b&w shots better than the colour stuff (each has its own pleasures).

It seems that you also had nice company at Berlin. :)

My favourite shot from my last trip to Berlin:
