Street Photography In Chinatown...

Your photos are consistantly among my favorites on RFF. I even find myself going back to your Flickr gallery frequently. Keep up the good work!

Flickr's been my dumping ground for individual photo's I like, I'm glad you're checking it out. But it's temporary until the real site.
Thanks again, it means a lot.

Oh, don't even try to pretend. You are a "street photographer"! Wonderful images and well rendered! Very inspiring!

I wasn't lying! This is the first time I've gone out in what seems like a year. And even before then it was just a handle of bumbled failures. ;)

And thank you

Hey dude, I love that one of the police - thats a classic right there. Great photos

I love the Police. Although my usual juvenile distaste has been watered down by the excellent people in the SFPD, They've given me rides home at the wee hours when all other choices seemed very bleak.

I like the souvenirs image the most. I just looked through your zenfolio images, and like some of your post process treatment. How is zenfoilio for hosting? anyway, keep up the good work.

The first two are full of feeling. I really like the echoing figure also in the profile of the woman and child. Very impressive!

really a good serie wiht a good use of the wide angle vision. The SOUVENIR picture is great, but the others are very good as well

I am not a big fan of the genre but I find most of your images to be powerful and meaningful the 1st and 4th are probably my favorites but I hate to say it as all of them have strong appeal ....
After writing the above I looked again at the images and left all my favorites
Disclaimer. I don't pretend to be a street photographer, and I've never been the biggest fan of the genre with the rare great exceptions.
That being said I felt as though my cajones had grown as of late and today would be a good day to "what the hell" and go for it.
Anyway I just wanted to share my results, posted it here because it was all with the M8 and the 21mm Biogon.

Anyway...

all with m8 + zm distagon 15,2.8

care to disclose any of your post processing procedures?
i'm a huge fan.

cheers

I like them all and to answer your question I like the last one you were wondering about the best, lots to wonder about in that shot, what's going on? why the hands with the coins? ect, ect?

I think I like the last one the best now as well.
But it was a head scratcher when I first saw it.

I uploaded a slideshow with some more images if anyone is interested.
Thanks again.

Edit: And for post processing it is pretty much 99% adobe lightroom. It's an incredibly powerful program that really does everything I need. Especially with the additions in Lightroom 2

so applying all those effects is done with lightroom?
which actions do you use?
i really want to find a film border type of thing...
give me some direction please!

thanks!

Everything is done in Lightroom 2. It's not something I could really just type it it's taken the same effort it would take learning to print in the darkroom. It's just a matter of knowing
For the border I would suggest meddling with the "post crop" function in Lightroom 2
