Old time con game played with bottle caps instead of shells in the modern era. That's the shill being paid off. I'm amazed no one was bothered that both the game operator and the shill were Puerto Ricans with heavy NY accents while everyone else was black.

New Orleans: I saw this man as I walked by, stopped, made one shot, smiled, said "thank you" and kept going. An hour later while we were having lunch, he came in and sat at the table next to ours. I was so thankful that I am always nice to everyone.
