Nicolás, regarding el guitarrero, man I'd love to hear him play. I play classical guitar and I play many Uruguayan songs regularly. Nice photos!
And Rob, I see you visited the High Line. I got some great shots there a few weeks ago. I'll post some here soon.

Thanks for the comment Brad. El guitarrero (note that he calls himself "el guitarrero" or "the guitar player") is a poor man who has been playing his guitar daily on Montevidean buses for years, be it sunny or rainy, hot or cold. As you can imagine, this kind of life has taken its toll both on him and his instrument. His guitar is barely tuned, his voice is unstable and "grainy", but you know, its beautiful on its own sad way. Makes you wonder what kind of decisions lead him to live a life like this and even how he manages to survive at all.
Recently a friend of mine who saw the picture commented how she had seen him daily on bus #121 when she used to go to college - as year passed, he grew older and more beaten up. She felt sad about him, but felt good that somehow this picture sort of "rescued" him from forgiveness.
Brad, you should definitely hear some music from Alfredo Zitarrosa, a great musician from here. If you play music from Uruguay i guess you already do, his guitar work is very characteristic. Otherwise shoot me a PM and I can send you some of his music.

This picture give me some feeling. An old woman behind the closed gate with many broken mannequins.
(I'm thinking)
Nice work.
