it's just hide and seek
After thinking about getting a newer 35mm lens - either a Nokton 35/1.4 MC or a used Summicron 35 Ver. III or IV - I want to show you my latest efforts with the J-12.
They are much better, since I got knowledge how to handle that histogramm before scanning - in addition I put the apperture on 8 mostly.
Here are a few examples:
1) some documentary shots from a big demonstration in my hometown:
2) And from a trip to Cologne some weekends ago:
Equippment used: Leica M4 with Jupiter-12 (35/2.8) lens, Adox CHM 400 film, developed in D76 1+1 and scanned on Epson V500.
Comments/critique are very welcome!
I just ordered a yellow filter. Maybe this will even increase the contrast. But I'm not sure yet.

A yellow filter should definitely increase the contrast. That said, I really like the shots a lot. Admittedly, I prefer a lower contrast image. I think you found a good mix of lens film and developer for my taste. Looking at the first two shots in which the contrast is least, both include portions of the brighter sky. Perhaps a hood will also help, though I believe the J12 has a very deeply set front element.

Hi Florian,
great pictures! Nice to see you're giving the M4 a thorough workout!

Nowadays a yellow filter is not the only way to increase contrast. By contrast (oops), I don't find my J-12 low in contrast.

Peter, thanks. Was a very good transaction we did with the M4.
