Ed, sorry I found this post late. The portrait of the Subway kid is OUTSTANDING! Thanks for posting these.
Thanks, and thank you elude! Haven't shot much 28mm after getting the 50 summicron but here are a few more. Some really great shots in this thread.

28 was the only lens I had for about 2 years. Just got a 50, now Im always too close....
More beautiful shots of street photography. I lived for a time in Bloomfield, not far from Newark. So many wonderful memories.
Continue with the 28mm. I am selling a 35 that is too tight and I'm left with two 21mm, a 28 and a 50 DR which is fixed on an M2, so I'm not always to change lenses. The wide-angle view, when you get used to, you can not go back, because with the longer focal length will always seem a small world.

28mm is hard. To me, you need more things going on in a 28mm photo to really take advantage of it, or else the frame looks a little too empty. Of course you can take advantage of this emptiness also.

The third is well composed. Just get used to the 28mm and wide open spaces will be your accomplices and with the wide-angle lenses are also made great environmental portraits.
I made excellent portraits with the 21 Super-Angulon f/3.4 even at 40cm. away.

I am finding this thread really inspiring and makes me want to start using my two CV 28's again. (I tend to use my CV 35 f2.5 most of the time nowadays)

I have a 28mm elmarit (V3) that I used to use a lot, but then about 3 years ago I bought a 35mm 1.2 and that became my main lens, but I still use my 28mm sometimes....
I was sort of forced to use it during my last trip to Myanmar because my 35mm broke and I needed a "wide" lens......anyways here are some photos from my 28mm elmarit......

Great shots in this thread. Hope I'd be able to revive it. I just got a GRD iV and love the transition from a 50mm to 28mm

Great set of shots Michael. I recently bought a V3 elmarit myself. I much prefer it to the Zeiss Biogon.

For me, 28mm seems to be better suited for SLRs since I can get so close with it. I was considering getting one for my Bessa but I want to be able to get 4 or 5 inches from my subject. 28mm is better when you have consent IMO.
