Stuck battery

As the title says, I have a Yashica MG-1 and the battery is stuck in it's compartment. There is some play back and forth but it doesn't turn and it doesn't come out.

If I put a few drops of vinegar down the chute would that maybe work?

May as well. If you try to twist it out dry it might break the contact spring at the bottom. You may have to unscrew the bottom plate to find out how deep the
corrosion goes.

Hi,

Don't try this at home - as they say on TV - but many years ago when I'd tried everything else I put a self tapping screw into the battery and wiggled and levered it out that way. Seems they swell slightly when badly gone. I figured the corrosive muck would have done a lot of damage anyway and my 2d worth wouldn't add much to the carnage.

But, don't try it at home because I don't want you wrecking things because of a comment I made...
