Students - need a 135 in LTM?

Having recently received a wonderful Canon 135/3.5, I find that my Steinheil Culminar 13.5cm f1:4.5 is surplus to my needs. It's a definite user lens - lots of scuffs in the aluminum mount, but the glass is in good condition and it produces a decent image. It's not a great lens by any means, but it is a solid long focus lens.

As I've gotten many good things from many RFFers, I'd like to give it to someone here. So if there are any students here who can give a user 135/4.5 LTM lens a good home, drop me a PM. I do need the cost of postage, I'm afraid, but that's all - say $5 for USPS priority mail, actual cost outside the US.

Thanks again to everyone here,

William

I have a 135 in worse condition for sale in the Classifieds, but I'm a student myself!

It's very generous, and it certainly deserves one more bump!

jvx, a fellow belgian student here on the forum was looking for a cheap portrait lens. Please do contact him. If he isn't interested, I am.

Wimpler, I've sent him a PM. If he's not interested, you'll be the first to know.

Thanks for the very generous offer William, and thanks for the plug Wim. I'll have to let this one slip though, I've since bought an elmar 90 so my portrait/telephoto-needs are fulfilled since I'm really a wide-angle shooter anyway.

I think it's a very nice idea to give it away to a student, but speaking for myself I really have plenty of equipment and I would not want to take this away from someone who would use it a lot more.

Thanks again!

I am well-versed in the meanings of "GAS", "FSU", "IMHO", etc. but please what does "bump" mean in the context used in this thread? I am sure it is something simple and basic, and so am I, which is why I can't work it out.

In this circumstance, it means to "bump" a thread to the top of the pile on the front page listing of active threads. The idea is that it makes it more visible to someone who might not have seen it previously. In this particular case, by asking the question, you gave the thread a bump. 🙂

Hope this helps.

BTW, To anyone following this thread, I am waiting on an answer from one individual and have another [edit: now two 🙂 ] who has expressed interest. I will be out of town for the long US Memorial Day weekend, so I may not get back to this thread untill Tuesday of next week.

I am both a student, and in need of something telephoto. I too, though, am more of a wide shooter than a long shooter, so I was sort of poking around for something in 90mm. However, a 135 for this price is nothing to pass up!

However, as I already have the benefit of a Leica or two and some fancy gear as it is, I don't think it would be fair to ask for something like this! This is a great place, filled with great people, and I'm not even surprised to see such kindness exhibited for seemingly no reason.

Someone's going to be very happy! 🙂

Hi,
Clarence has a Jupiter 11 in the classifieds at a reasonable price.

wow... nice of you!

I'm student from Croatia, and pretty new in the world of film photography, all of my equipement I have obtained by kindeness of my friends, and for that I'm gratefull. But I have only normal 5cm lenses and would like to have some longer lens... like yours! 🙂

btw i'm just waiting for some very old and complete darkroom equipement... (including in the package glass negatives from around 1915.) 🙂
