I almost never used the 15/4.5 wide open on the R-D1. It helps to give yourself one more stop of DOF than you'd use on film. For example, shoot at F8 but use the DOF markings for F5.6 to set your focus.
Aside from some light falloff issues, the 15 is a great lens on the R-D1.

Hi
Using the dept of field table just change the drop down boxes to 15mm, epson rd-1 and feet and meters and you can see all the permutations.
