Is what I was saying at a wedding reception last week, 4am, not in the bast state of repair and the camera seemed to jam as I advanced with the t-winder - I instantly thought of the various stories of the dicky shutter on the Bessas...

No amount of jiggling or tempered drunken brute force would unlock it (I tried for about 15 minutes). I put the camera in its bag in disgust.

The following afternoon I was feeling better enough to have a look this pile of steaming poo and the first thing I noticed was the film counter - '36'.

D'oh!

If I browsed the internet less I would be less stupid.

Good one. At least you didn't crank it so hard that you ripped the film out of the cassette. I did that on an SLR during a vacation years ago and haven't been able to live it down yet.

or keep the cap on, or open the back without rewinding or fail to attach the film to the take up or put the same film in twice or not put a film in at all, drink is an evil!!!!!!194

This happened on the second day of my holiday. I'm sitting here hoping only the last frames will be knackered (has this happened to anyone else?).

That's why I only drink when I'm alone or with somebody.

That happened to me a couple months ago. I didn't notice that I had ripped the film of out the cassette and after "rewinding" I opened the back of the camera. All this after only four beer. 🙁

Opening the back without rewinding has been brilliant photographic moment...too busy thinking about the upcoming shots and how I want to shoot them.
Last night I had a hand rolled canister of film come apart on me...cant wait to see how that comes out 🙁
