Sub $250 point and shoot that does reasonable video?

My son wants a cheapish point and shoot with a zoom that can do a reasonable job of video .... sub $250.00

I'm hesitant to recommend anything to him because frankly I don't have a clue what's out there that's decent. There's plenty of options but can someone offer a little guidance?

Hi Keith,

For that amount of money you almost can buy a previous gen Micro Four Thirds camera. That's a big step up from any P&S, offers a growth path and they do decent video too.

Sony has very good HD video in its compacts, the DSC-WX200 will fit the budget.
