Any of the Yashicas & a 50 1.4 Yashica ML lens.
I did some comparison shots with it & the Zeiss Planar 50 1.4 the other day.
Will post results when I get time.
Love the Yashica 50 1.4.
Though the prices seem to be going up again.
Not sure where any Leica comes in the throw away/cheap catergory......

It sounds like price is driving your decision.
If you can splurge a bit just about any Leicaflex is most excellent, highly recommended.
For a bit less splurging you can get a Nikon F2 or F2a and be very happy.
Either camera should last and last and last.
There are lots of great lenses in the 50/2, Pentax, Fuji, Cannon and others.
If I were to carry a film SLR every day my choice would be a OM-1 or a Nikon F2 with a plain prism. I'd pick up a Lumu for my iPhone and use that for a meter.
Send you OM in for TLC, pick another one up and have it shipped for the same care directly to your favorite TLC provider. Two should last you a long time. I think that's your best bet if price is an issue, stick with one of the best, the OM-1.

Leicaflex SLR or R Series
Leicaflex SLR or R Series
A few years ago, I decided to get the cameras I used in college and a couple years working as a photojournalist. Now this was in the early 1970's so I searched and found a plain prism Nikon F and got my favorite lenses (24f2.8, 55f3.5 Micro, 105f2.5, and 200f4 all pre ai). And the camera I wanted but could not afford, an M4.
Well, times change and I have the Nikon F on consignment with 55 Micro. It was CLA'ed and works great and the M4 now is an M2 and M9. I still love manual film cameras but have run out of room in the cabinet (besides M's, there is a 500C/M and R6.2).
The R bodies can be had for less then $200 and the Leicaflex still has the best and brightest viewfinder of any SLR I have ever handled and in 45 years, I have owned lots and handled even more.
