Unscratched ones are really rare (I have one, which has survived more through total neglect on the part of former owners than anything, judging from the fluff inside it when I got it - all CLAd and lovely now though).
It can be economic to have the front element polished - they're not normally coated anyway - but this needs to be done by someone who can re-collimate the lens afterwards. No-one wanted them a few years ago and they were given away with bodies, but they are developing a bit of a following. They're low in contrast, they flare horribly even with the proper hood (SOOMP) but stop them down a bit and they get really, really sharp. They have a genuine glow around anything light-coloured against a dark background, basically due to the flare.
Out of interest, the uncoated air-to-glass surfaces should lose around half the light but I've never noticed underexposure on Reala 100 when using an incident meter. Has anyone actually measured the light loss and do you under-rate your film?
