Summarit : 3 different types ?

Just out of curiousity. There seems to be 3 lens types using the Summarit name:

1. Summarit 50/1.5 LTM, produced 1949 - 1960
2. Summarit 40/2.4 fixed lens on Minilux, produced in 1990s
3. Summarit 35, 50, 75, 90 / 2.5, released this year

Are these 3 entirely different optical designs? Similar in name only?
 
I really want to know how they compare to summicrons. please let us know Lynn

I don't have a summicron to compare with but I like my Summarit.

It can be a little unpredictable though, or maybe I have poor technique or something. Sometimes it gives beautifully soft images wide open and other times it is very sharp. I tend to shoot high contrast film (Neopan) so it's low contrast properties work well for me. Stopped down it is generally very sharp.
