Leica LTM Summaron 35/3.5

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Because it is so small, the M-version of the Summaron 35mm f/3.5 is nice to use on big cameras.

i like the size of it, and of course the images it produces. i do not, however, enjoy the haptics of the M-mount version. the focus adjustment doesn't feel right whether you use the ring or the infinity-lock nub. the aperture adjustment ring requires pinching the fingers a little too much.

i've relegated mine to a zone-focus (set it and forget it) lens for street photography, at which it excels.

There are different M-mount versions. This one is my favorite, made from heavy brass, not unlike the first version of the rigid Summicron 50mm f/2:

The other M-mount version is more flat, without the built-in shade. When mounted on an M-Leica it brings the 50mm frame into the viewfinder. It was made for the M3 that does not have a 35mm frame anyhow.

yes, this is my Summaron 3.5cm/3.5 M3 w/o specs. DAG milled it to bring up 35mm lines. it is a very dense brass lens.

These are a jolly nice lens. I had mine CLA'd a year or so back and it performs well too. There is something about the rendering that produces lovely images.
 
I bought Helen's LTM Summaron and have been putting it to good use on both film and digital cameras. It is a wonderful lens.
