What jc031699 said. I didn't heated the block. Just tapped gently (a lot) on a hard surface and slowly came out.thanks for the support! So you basically heat the whole piece and then tap it to get the lens element out? No screwing or anything else ?
I’ll give it a try this evening
Hi,I could work a bit more in this. Still unsuccessful....:
1. I removed the tiny grub screw under the name plate. Unscrewed the front silver ring.
2. Removed the three screws to lift the aperture index ring.
3. The same with the two pins that holds the ring that operate the aperture. Careful with the two ball bearings.
And that's it. When I try to unscrew the rear retaining ring (wich requieres a lot of strength), the whole optical block rotate (dashed line). I'm stuck here.

Please post photos of which ring you are describingHi,
I am trying to unscrew the first ring
Hi,
I am trying to repair a defective Summaron lens. After I removed the small screw from top the first ring (1) is still stuck. Is the ring (1) only screwed onto the thread?

Hello Wing, welcome to the forum.Hello,
I was reading your discussion about the Summaron 35mm f/3.5, and I noticed that you initially had difficulty removing the rear section but later managed to resolve it.
I am currently servicing the same lens and seem to be encountering a very similar issue with the rear assembly. I would like to ask if the correct first step is to unscrew the outer retaining ring at the rear.
I have already tried using a proper lens spanner tool and applied a significant amount of torque, but the part does not seem to move at all. I am therefore wondering if I might be approaching it incorrectly, or if there is a hidden locking mechanism, reverse thread, or any specific technique involved.
Could you kindly share how you managed to disassemble the rear section, and whether there are any precautions or specific steps I should follow?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
