the 35/3.5 Summaron is a great lens.
it gives the photos a real quality look that seems lacking in some japanese 35's of the same vintage .
the Nikkor 35/2.5 comes very close, but the rare Topcor 35/2.8 was even better.

Hello:

You can expect sharp moderate contrast images. PanF is great with this lens.

It still is a surprisingly good lens even 50 years or more on. I really like mine and agree with Frank that it produces sharp images with moderate contrast from a tiny well built lens. I use colour print film mostly.

I am a fan of this lens. I bought one in M mount a few years back as it was at the right price and liked it so much I then bought a screw mount one for my LTM camera. Gives nice results although some do not think its sharp or contrasty enough. I think life is not about a never ending quest for more sharpness and contrast - its about good images and there is no doubt this lens produced good images.
