Hey guys, I've been thinking about this for a while and was wondering if we could set a date for maybe August which would give everyone a chance to clear their schedules and plan on attending...I've even heard a rumour that one of our esteemed moderators might make a trip out this way this summer. This should also give any of our American friends a chance to get their passports before coming...not that you'll need them to get in, but I hear leaving can be tough.

So I was thinking about picking a bar in the city and everyone meeting there andthen possible wandering arround shooting and showing off their gear?

Whaddaya say?

Chris.

Count me in! And if there is a hassle leaving I guess I'll apply for immigrant status...lol.

I'm in, and I know that I can dig up some other local RF users. Maybe I could ask Tom Abrahammson if he's interested in doing a show and tell of some of the new gear, and sharing some stories.

Keep me posted.

That would be the best thing EVER!

So I was thinking the long weekend in August, but I kow that many people like to have that for family time, trips, etc. Does anyone have any dates that absolutely don't work for them?

Chris..

i would probably take some holidays from work so i would need the dates first and then check to make sure i can get the time off.

i'm thinking of maybe taking the train or a bus as i usually just drive alone.

There you go Ladies and Gentlemen (are there any ladies out this way on the forum?) Back Alley may come!

So How is August 5 or 6th? For BC residents, that is the BC day long weekend...so we may want to move it back or forward a weekend depending on everyones plans.

Count me in. I'm going to immigrate to Canada anyway. Too much sun down here.

All it's good for is de-yellowing Super Takumar 50/1.4 lenses, the glass of which contains thorium and lanthanum, causing them to yellow up with age. Hard to make a living doing this.

I would like to make it. I live in NW Washington so its not too far. It would depend when it is.

Leo

Nice! Is the date ok with everyone? I don't want to be overly autocratic here. This is a bump for the night owls and our friends in different time zones looking for an excuse to travel this summer :)

I'd be thrilled to come up from "the other Vancouver" to the South. Let us know when the dates and locations are set. Chuck

Sounds great except for the timing (for me)...

I plan a trip overseas to the Rockies and will most likely visit Vancouver too, though it is planned for end of September/early October... :(

This sounds like a really great idea. I'll pencil it in on my calendar.
