what are they worth?

Depends on where you sell it, and in a small way if it's Canadian or German. I believe the German versions are more desirable, but some of that is just Leica internet mythology and things getting the best of us.

If selling here on RFF you can't really ask eBay prices, but I'd make a rough guess at around $1700-$2000 if you're lucky and get the right buyer.

EBay can be all over the place but most likely listed higher than $2000.

Germany, Canada; doesn't matter. What matters is whether there's haze and if it can be remove. If so, and it is in the condition it appears, ~US$2300 and up.

When the China made Summicron replica becomes available for sale for $500, there is a chance that a Summicron’s market value will go down.

Sell soon.

We Leica users tend to shoot ourselves in the foot maintaining certain myths alive (like the M4-2 camera is bad or that the Summicron 35 v4 is the best). In my experience, condition and operability dictates the price more often than not. However, one factor does count all the time: whether Leica made a lot or not of something. Silver lenses were not as abundant, so they can cost a bit more than black finish ones.

Take care!

Did Cosina have any real effect on Leica prices? If anything it pushed them up.

I don't think a knock-off will hurt the value of V1 Summicrons. I plan to buy one, but I doubt my original will lose any value.

I hope so. I don't want Leica price to tumble because of replicas.
This replica is not a CV case; it is a true replica. step by step.

I might be not so keen with knock-off term (those who represent this lens copy are good people at RFF), but you are correct
Here is corrected 35 1.4 mkII already Nokton, but trashed old Lux from Great White North is now hoovering at 3K USD price.

And while where are fake Rolex and BMW, it didn't moved those original items prices down at all.

I was in federal tax free Stare last winter (somewhere close to Quebec). I have seen two Chinese tourists running from one brand store to another with cargo cart. Buying in quantities. I asked my Chinese senior why? He told me - because it is not fake.

No offense intended...
I actually admire the guy making the replica, but it is exactly that; a replica. I am signed up to buy one and am looking forward to it.

Price only matters for those buying, selling, or trading. Those happy with the lenses they already have can just smile and make photos.

I'm content with the Leica cameras and lenses I already have, so what Leica does or what China does is of no concern to me. I suspect this is true for many people with Leica film cameras.
