I guess that is true. Most Leica equipment keep their price either due to demand and for collector value. Demand is driven by user and collection value is drive by collectors.

No offense but people that can't/won't pay Summicron's price aren't influencing price (they are not affecting demand). Only way I see that it will affect prices is if lots of people star selling their summicron's for cheap (unlikely) and start replacing for this replica.

On my side, I will buy one and keep my summicron. Probably do some comparative but I probably will keep using the original Summicron.

Cosina has been clever in creating lenses that don't seek to emulate or imitate. They've created a space of their own, not unlike Zeiss. Personally, and I suspect this is true for many, these lenses have their separate purposes and duplicate a FL I already own in Leica.
