I may have damaged my 50 DR as it may have been in close-up mode when I began to remove it.

I went to re-attach the lens and it won't click into place. I reattached my new (to me) CV 15 and it's mounting correctly.

I pulled the collar out and pushed it over to close-up mode, but the lens focusing collar won't spin at all.

Is this something I can possibly fix, or do I just need to send it out the door for repair. Any idea of the cost for repai?

Thanks for your help.

edit: oooh. just realized it will spin in close-up mode, I need to hold down the bearing that holds the glasses in place.

Now I just need it to mount properly. Any ideas why it won't click in place?

I think the lens needs to focused at infinity for removal and mounting. Pull the focus ring out and turn it to the far focusing side of the tab. Turn to infinity. Mount.

yes, normally it'll mount properly when it's focused at infinity - as per Stephen's directions. But somehow yesterday I must've tweaked something when I took the lens off and when I tried to put it back on.

It can't be that sensitive a mount can it?

Update: I had some help from another forum. there's a very slight angle to th edge of the slot on the len's mount where it engages the tab on the body's mount. I bent the tab up just a touch and it will now engage the lens a little more, still not locked in place though.

I'll need to buy a new mount for the lens - may be a little expensive given that it's a whole unit, not just a flat piece of metal with blades.

Thanks for your help Wayne.
