I picked up a second hand Summicron for $550 (Australian, it's more expensive down here :-/) and I did what you normally do, take it out and use it for what it's for, photography!

Thought anyone interested in this lens would want to check the samples, so here they are

Oh, and the issue of flare, it did pop up, but only in 2 shots out of 72 shots, and these were taken when the sun was relatively high, so I honestly don't think it's a huge blow against this lens. For the price I got it (cheaper than a brand new voigtlander no less!) I think it's a damm steal. I love it.

Camera was a Bessa R3A, just incase someone wants to know.

Hope you find them useful,

-Tim

Good job!
. Thought it was digital because the images are so clean. Curious about the film/ dev as previously asked.

Very nice, Tim. You just have to love a 'cron when you've got fine detail to record. The BW400CN (as your tags state) looks very smooth as others have said. I've always found the flare issue with 'crons overdone.

Which model 'cron do you have?

Mark, I liked that shot near the bridge, the treey-part as you describe it. What sort of trees are they?

Hope to see more of your summicron work!

Thomas

Film was just Kodak 400CN developed at the local lab. I use a Epson V700 to scan all the negs too. I've printed A4 off it before and I find it more than sufficient for scanning, they look equal if not better than prints for DSLR's.

And the Summicron is Version 2 Rigid, based on the serial number, 69-79' it was made so it tells me here

And guess what, now that same store I picked up the Summicron from has an M6 for sale, right after I used most of my money to finance the summicron.

Noooooooooooo!

I think it might be time for me to get another no interest lone again ;-)

Catch ya,

-Tim

I just did the conversion: $416 US Dollars.

Your photos with the lens are really nice. I just was able to purchase this lens, too. I love mine.
