Summicron 50mm Type IV help

Hello all, I am reaching out for help with a 1986 Summicron 50mm. This is the one with the current optics, but the tabbed focus ring.

Can anyone point me to a construction diagram or other guide? The aperture ring on mine was very loose, and though It clicked through the detentes it was always being bumped and so I tried to adjust the three small screws on the aperture ring. I did this very gently, but it made no difference. I then backed them all off a bit, but now when I tighten them gently back there aren't detente clicks! :bang:

The aperture still changes, but now it is continuous, without detent clicks. Any help much appreciated...
 
An update: I can hear a small ball rolling around in the aperture ring. This would seem to be the detent click ball? So I may have to disassemble part of the optical module to get to it?

I can see that the front retaining ring will be straightforward to remove, but would really appreciate any advice before I take the next step! I have disassembled a lens once before, cleaned and lubed the helicals, but I know each lens is different...
 
Hmmm. Well, right now, it's still worth something.....
Maybe you can repair it. I think it will take more than a diagram. You'd need detailed instructions for this particular lens. I recently downloaded a Leica repair manual to my iPad and the second half is lenses, but I don't recall detail on this lens. My 50 Summicron v4 aperture ring was gummed up a bit and the lens was back focussing by centimetres so I sent it in for an overhaul. The aperture ring is now looser than ever, but I think that's just the way it is. I'd suggest sending yours to an expert.
 
Yes, there is no damage to the lens, it will be reassembled and be better than it was at the start. Can anyone provide some help? I can send it to a technician, but this is a DIY forum and I guess this sort of job should be within its reach?
 
Thanks B-9, I like doing it myself and I have worked on mechanical watches in the part, so I have a great set of fine screwdrivers and other tools. However, in this case I am time pressed due to work and made the decision to hand it over to an expert. He has had a look at it and it is a simple job, he will also do a CLA on it as it needs to be disassembled.
