hi,
i have a Jupiter-8 in my M6 and i have the opportunity to buy a summicron rigid 50mm f2 for 300€, from a friend in another city, in real world situations ( not pixel counting) what big differences will i notice in b&w and colour film? the diference from the two lens is worth the money?

Shoul i notice big differences? in what situations?

Regards,
Avelino

The Cron is definitely sharper wide open. The Cron also has noticable less contrast at f/2 and a bit less contrast over all.
300€ is great price (go for it you will not loose money on this deal!!!)
The J8 is a super lens but the mechanics suck and the rigid cron is about as good as it gets mechanically!

I'm using white J-8 from fifties. Mechanically solid lens.

But, if someone will offer me good Leica lens under good price, I'll buy it to compare.

at this size its hard to see a major difference between the 2 lens.

True! It was also scanned with the ****ty flatbed so you can't see resolution differences.
But I'd say the f/5.6 shot shows some difference in contrast (All shots were on the same shutter speed and I scanned the whole strip at once and set white/black point for them absolutely equally)
