So the apeture blades almost completely locked up on my Summicron, I emailed DAG and he said send it in and for forty bucks plus shipping he would give iit a CLA. He never said and I never ask, what's the turn around time usually? He is so go and highly recommended it don't really matter, but about how long?

Don is a nice person but he is always overloaded. Try to call him every week after two weeks time ergn your lens is there.

Don fixed/overhauled & collimated my 35 Summilux in 7 days, but you have to tell him when you need/want it back by.
If you don't specify a time period it'll probably just sit there until he's good and ready.
added:
I should of added that his work was spot on and he's a nice guy to deal with too.

Don's great, it's been years since I dealt with him. He resurrected a bunch of lenses and Minox cameras from the grave for me over the years.
Stay in touch, don't nag, just let him know what you need and ask what he can do. He's a very busy person.

I have been using his repair services for years. I have no complaints. I ask him beforehand about his work being very busy or now.

Don is always busy and in very high demand. An earlier poster was correct, If you don't specify a time range, he'll get to it when he can. If you can reach him by phone, he could give you a rough idea but regardless, I would add at least 2-3 weeks from when he says it will be done. Typically 6-8 weeks if you are lucky or it's a simple fix.

He does. He did mine a few months back.

I sent in two lenses to DAG. Took about 3 months. Cost about $70 for each CLA'd. Came back working and looking like new. Maybe DAG varies the price based on workload and/or lens.

My M5s need red dots!
His prices may have gone up. He did charge me that much for a CLA on an Elmarit 135mm f2.8 that had the goggles misaligned.
He just sent back my two Leica M5 bodies and my Nikon S2 kit. There was an unexpected problem with one M5 so it went back to him, but the other two cameras are looking like a million bucks thanks to him. Mind you: they were sent early in August 2011 and returned in January 2012. I asked him to send them back to me after Thanksgiving... but he evidently couldn't make it. He is busy, his work is first class, he honors his warranties and he's a nice person too. I will wait for my black M5 to return in good shape again... it'll be like Christmas!
