admittedly it was probably Gabor & Thomas' shots that pushed ME Over the Top to BUY the Lux...!!

Gabor's photos contribute largely to pushing me over to buy lenses i really want, but cannot justify purchasing

i have a lovely Rigid 'cron, so i'm trying to convince myself that a 'lux is not on 'want to buy' list and that i should just hold out until i can afford a Noct (i.e. hold out, indefinitely).

lovely photos in thsi thread, keep them coming. i will try not to lust for the 'lux.

Funny..all these new super-sharp, super crisp lenses coming out, and what everybody wants is the "classic" look of the old lenses the new lenses are supposed to replace.

yup

yup

Probably in a year or two, as people look at the photos, the "asph" lenses will be the M5 of lenses.

Maybe Leica, or whoever buys them will go back to the old designs with less distortion, less harsh contrast and bokeh, and less focus shift.

Inspriation for me

Inspriation for me

For me, this is the type of street photos I would like to take. The individuals are in their element relaxing, and none of them are looking into the camera with suspicion or dread, they're just taking a break.

They're NY's finest, but we all know they have stories. A couple are probably on the take, a couple probably having partner/spouse/alcohol/drug issues, maybe a couple of them are being investigated by IAB for some little shakedown. They have rough jobs and aren't perfect, but still manage to serve and protect.

What an inspiring photo of real life.

version 2 is the one I have...One of my FAVs
