Why don't you just keep using both of them. They both looked fine to me. I'm noting to nitpick worthwhile photos.

I do use both regularly, actually. The Summitar gets more airtime, but I do enjoy the J-8 quite a bit.
The first "test" was just to finish the last two frames on a roll of Sensia, and the "shootout" was done when I'd come home drenched with winter rain, unable to shoot outside.

Yes, I appreciate this -- they're both 50mm f/2 lenses, after all, and my original two shots (of a person, in an Actual Real Setting) were pretty damn similar, save for some out-of-focus-area rendering.
I just hope you're not insinuating that I don't do "real photography" as opposed to test shots because I had an hour to kill on a cold and freezing-rainy Montreal night![]()
Hi,
The main point was that people get wound up over lenses and really the differences aren't worth bothering about for most of us. Yet people worry as though the results were going on a billboard.
And what people do when it rains in Montreal, day or night, doesn't bother me... As long as you enjoy yourself.
Regards, David
