Few week ago I found a Summicron-C 40/2 on Adorama's site, it was stated as "Rear scratches, Haze, Cosmetic condition E"

So I decided to try Adorama's used department since I bought a used Smmicron 50/2 (II) from B&H (my first purchase). I contacted Youxin Ye first for use his address, and than ordered it after I sold my Smmicron DR

Youxin Ye mades his inspection:
It is in nice physical condition, with box, both caps and lens shade.
The rear element has no cleaning marks, just haze inside and some haze lines. Based on our past experience, usually this lens should be cleaned out well...

Few days later:
...cleaned and lubricated...I noticed the rear element has a few very faint cleaning marks, hardly noticeable. The optics cleaned to the best, a good user lens, it has typical slight aging signs from lenses made in 1970's, we have seen this in many lenses, no surprise.

...In anyway it was a super bargain purchase.

Total price I paid after CLA is $340...really SUPER bargain!
After two days of delay on USPS system by last week's winter storm Juno, the lens finally arrived on my desk:

Lens barrel, caps and rubber hood is in mint condition. Glass is 95% perfect. Aperture ring and focus ring is smooth. Box printed with matching series with lens is extra... but it is somewhat wear and tear that I have to put some tapes to fix.

Now I am test this lens on my M5 to see what will it show on Kodak ultramax film. Also I tried my three 35mm finders for framing practice: SBLOO, Olympus VF-1 and Russia 35mm finder for Kiev. Maybe I can show these finders difference later...

congrats for bargain Leica lens 🙂 am shooting with 40mm these days also, don't have other lenses for my Canon.

You won't be disappointed. The small size makes it one of my go to lenses on every M-series camera I have owned. The rendering is very similar to the Non-Asph 35 Cron. VII but smaller and lighter. You can find instructions on modifying the lens to bring up 35mm frame lines somewhere here on the forum. I have done this myself to two of them with no issues. Or you can always ask Youxin Ye to do the modification. Enjoy.
