I just got recently Minolta Multipro Scanner with Silverfast sofrtware. I remount my slides into plastic mounts and can get decent quality scans. However, when I'm trying to scan 6x7 film with the glass holder I'm getting cropped scans. Is it something inherent in Silverfast software, or am I doing something wrong? I would prefer just original Minolta software, but can't find it. My goal is to eventually use wet scan mounting for my needs. I used to work on high end scanners in a photo-lab, and am spoiled for quality. Any thoughts anybody? Also, I want to buy more film holders for that scanner.

I have the Minolta Multi-Pro software at home. You can get it on the web but I don't have the link.
Let's see if anyone comes up with the link, otherwise I will get the software to you somehow.. like drop box or something.
Or mail you a CD...

I can send you a SASE if you send me your address to rfnder35@gmail.com. You could just drop it in the mail box then. i have heard good things about Vuescan, too. supposedly one can scan RAW scans using the pro version. have you ever done that?
Peter.

If you trial Vuescan you can also trial scanning RAW, then use Vuescan or Photoshop or whatever to invert. You'll just get watermarks. I sometimes use ColorPerfect, here's where I first heard of it http://benneh.net/blog/2010/09/25/vuescan-colorperfect-a-guide/?goal=yes

You need to reduce the dpi to 1200 - it's a hardware limitation.

Hi Peter, I have the Minolta software with me. It's about 6.5mb. Can your email accept a file that large?
