Right, following the unalloyed success and Great Good Time of the Sydney meets earlier this year, when Bobkonos and Jonmanjiro were here, the call is now out for another jamboree on Sunday January 10 brunch or lunch time. Who's in for this? There seems to be quite a few Sydney based forumers, so I hope we will make a big party. Partners welcome too.
Jonmanjiro, all hail the Great Moderator, will be back in town for a flying visit so we must honour him and welcome in the New Year with beer and gear! Or just a good yarn, if that's your wont.
And for me, I'll be off to New York on the Tuesday after, for a New York (State of Mind) meet the following weekend, kindly organised by Calzone and JMQ, so it'd be great to have two in a row, speaking selfishly.

I'm hoping to be there as long as we are still in Sydney.

With an intro like that... I guess I'd better turn up then

I have a house full of Belgians that I am hosting for a couple of weeks during that time, but I'll see what I can do. Don't want to miss out on what was a great evening last time.

Belgians welcome too

John, bring them along! We won't be talking just about photography I'm sure, and we can discuss The European Condition.

This is a bump for our hopeful meetup on Sunday 10 January. I'm proposing 12.00 noon at the Jet Cafe-Bar, Queen Victoria Building, south end, ground floor, which is where we met last time, then adjourn to somewhere interesting for lunch, perhaps Chinatown, and make as long an afternoon of it as we can bear.
Lets hear from you guys for counter suggestions and clever ideas.
This is an open invitation to anyone in Sydney who feels like fraternising with strange strangers, so the more people who come the better.

I'd love to be there guys, but it's extremely unlikely that I can zoom over from Western Australia at that time. Please take this as an apology and an application to be there in spirit. Pic from last time I was there in October 2013 at the Deus motorbike shop. IIIf/black J8/Delta 100

I'm still hoping to be there but at the moment it is going to be touch and go. We are going to be in the middle of putting in a new bathroom and I'm the 'labourer'.

I am pretty sure I can make 10 January at 12 noon and looking forward to it. For those of you who were aware, I, and the whole Jury I was serving on, was discharged by the Judge after three days of sitting for reasons which Her Honour could not divulge. Actually, I was disappointed. See you at the Jet Cafe Bar.

Now this might be a long shot, but are there any large format users amongst us?
I'll shout someone a beverage of some sort when we meet up in exchange for an unwanted but developed frame of 4x5 (or larger) film.
I'm keen for the meetup!

quejal there's quite a few MF users amongst us but I'm not sure about LF - not that they wouldn't be most welcome! Do you have a LF enlarger? The only LF users I know rent the Blanco Negro darkroom for 4x5.
Looking forward to meeting you (and of course as many others as would like an excuse for a good time). Remember WAGS are invited!

Is it just a 4x5 neg you want?

sweet!
Yup, just one 4x5 neg of some sort, which will be used to test out a film scanner I'm working on. Even better if there is a subject in sharp focus.
Edit: If you're not able to get to the meetup, don't worry about this. but thanks for the offer!

Quejai, really looking forward to hearing about the new scanner project. I've been dipping into your scanner thread periodically. Great project.
John McD, does this mean you'll be coming? Bring the European guests too if they would like to come.
McFingon, it's a real shame you can't make it over this occasion, but if and when you do come over, we'll make a meet up just for you. There are lots of motorbike aficionados here too.
