Canon LTM T-50 lens hood for Canonet?

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
might be.

the t indicates it's for telephoto so it might cut off part of the more wide 40mm.

the canonets had their own canon made hoods.

It's really the hood for the black 135/3.5 rangefinder lens. So, indeed, it might be a bit long.

It's also going to block your vviewfinder somewhat.

I see... Anyway, I did tried some shots with it for over the weekend. Maybe there's interesting vignetting effect results to see. :)

For the view-finder in the G-III QL17, it did block from the lower centre arching to the f/8 mark. That's about 12%? Without any hood, the lens barrel blocks about 3%. Some guesstimate...

someone with an original canonet lens hood might just be able to measure it for you. The traveling canonet has a hodd on it, but it might be right on its way to New Zealand, dunno...
You could PM "Tim" or "Stu:)", the camera+hood is swhere between them.

I have both an original Canonet hood and a Canon clamp-on hood S-50 which is a much sturdier hood the the plastic Canonet hood. I highly recommend the S-50.

FIeld report:

OK. I got the 4R prints back and though I can't remember which photos were taken with the T-50 lens hood on... but all seem OK. No vignetting. Looks like the T-50 lens hood is still usuable for my Canonet. :)
