T2 remembers flash settings?

I have been offered a T2 cheaply, but seller says the flash doesn't work. I don't mind the flash, but wondered if the camera remembers your flash settings when turning it on/off? It drives me nuts having to manually turn off flash on T4/MjuII etc. every time I turn off the camera.

T2 has s separate flash position on the aperture setting ring. So you don't have to worry - you simply won't use that position but rather Auto or another aperture (f4.0, 5.6 etc)
