Hello---I have an instruction maual for the Canon 7 and it states that when loading the camera, after you thread the film into the take-up spool, you should rotate the spool "clockwise" with your thumb. However the spool rotates "counter-clockwise" when the advance lever is cocked----(and the arrow on the take-up spool points "counter-clockwise." What is the best way to load film into these cameras?
Thanks!

"clockwise" is a poor choice of wording. The direction of the arrow is indeed the way the spool turns. I always advance the film until the sprocket holes are engaged on both edges to be sure the takeup spool really has caught the film.
