Canada, eh.
I have lovely little f3.5 Summaron with jsut a bit of haze internally. Does anyone know if these lenses are easy to pull apart to get at at least some of the internal elements? Thanks.

I cleaned one a few month ago; I only had the lens for a few days so I don't remember details, but I remember it was very easy... Sorry I can't help you more than this :/
I didn't keep it because f3.5 was too slow for what I wanted; it was otherwise a great lens!

I had the opposite experience trying to take apart a Summaron 2.8 M2 fitting. I didn't manage to do anything constructive except take the optical unit out of the focussing mount and then completely fail to get the ball bearing that does the click for the aperture stops back in place, eventually having it ping across the room into complete oblivion as somehow I always knew it would. The lens units themselves are held with a brass mount that is peened across the elements in the 2.8 but it may be easier with the 3.5

Stesm, you are correct. It may even be that the bit of haze adds to the character of the lens, producing atmospheric effects. Notice the flare in the attached photo:
