Talk me in to / out of a used M8

I came to this too late to offer my advice, which would have been to stay the course. Why buy a digital camera with yesterday's sensor? You have or had a M3--wish I had one. What's wrong with shooting with that and scanning, especially if you are aiming at b&w images?

I'm disappointed, but I hope you are happy.
