After I ruined a roll of good pictures by having the ((^$#^&^*&(%%$#@ masking tape pull off the spindle of the cartridge of some film I'd bulk loaded, I did some experimenting today.
Scotch tape-TOTAL waste of time-pulls loose with very little force.
Electrical tape-see above !
Clear packaging tape-static cling problems and kept sticking to itself. Might work but kept giving me problems.
Duct tape-very strong, but I'm worried about the goop it leaves behind. Plus I had to cut it down to about 1" wide-bit of a PITA.
The winner turned out to be 1" wide "Waterproof Adhesive Tape" medical tape-I could not pull the film off the spool by hand and using a camera and advancing the film could not get it to pull the film off the spool no matter how hard I tried.
Just thought I'd share this with anybody else who bulk loads their film.
