Taping over camera names/types

For the right price I'll sell my "pre-stressed" Leica M4 with DR Summicron and eyes. I traveled to Iraq to get this camera's patina as well as a few thousand photos of combat operations. For a few thousand extra, I'll sell the stories that go with the camera.

The RX & GR don't have them, and my go to street lens on the 5d is the Canon EF 50 f2.5 which has neither a big sparkly element nor any white type around the front.

That's not why I chose it though, I love the lens, it just happens to duck those points haha.

To me knocking back the contrast is what matters, it doesn't give me any ninja like stealth powers, it just stops the contrast being such an eye catcher.

You're not supposed to use the camera, still less in anywhere like Iraq. You're just supposed to look as if you might be a serious user, especially in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica.

To be fair to Leica (and I never, ever thought I'd say that in my life) they aren't the first or only manufacturer to issue "Special Editions" and various other contrived collectibles to separate the fans from their coins.
Canon, Nikon, and Cosina Voigtlander immediately come to mind as other opportunists who have pulled this same nonsense, and we generally don't think any less of them, so why pick on Leica?
