I have an FM which I love. It is a great camera. Recently I have an FT3, mint black. I have to say, it is classy, a beautiful camera, hand built, the feel is terrific, the controls are more intuitive, I love the match needle meter. I say get an FT3. It takes all my AI lenses natively and they are somewhat rare as they were only made for 1 year.
The only advantage the FM has in my opinion is the meter is more sensitive. It goes from EV 0 to EV 18, where the FT3 only goes from EV 3 to EV 17. Also, the LED lights on the FM are nice at low light but even so decide how important that is to you.
As far as price, I would say they are about the same depending on conditioni. So thats a non issue.
If I had to choose one or the other, I would choose the FT3.
