I know I am about to make a fool of myself.

I have a 1.4x afocal teleconverter lens that I use in front of my fixed lens compact camera with good results, and now I want to increase the reach.
what happens if I add a 2x tele extender to the mix?
The tele-extender will be placed between the afocal converter and camera lens.
I understand that an extender is designed to go between the lens and the film (sensor), but could it also be used between two separate glass elements? In this case, camera's fixed lens and the afocal converter? And what would the results look like? A nice black frame with a blurry circle at the center? 🙂
I don't have access to an extender at the moment. So my question is for those lens experts who know optical laws- unlike me 🙂

Thank you!
P.s. Is there a rule about repeat posts? I usually get annoyed when I see the same posts in different forums and now I'm doing the same. But they sure attract different crowds. Anyhow; here too:

If you have no rear converter at hand, you probably have someone with myopia in your vicinity?

Ask them for their spectacles, and you can experiment, whether it works or not.

(I presume, combining a front-of-lens converter and a rear converter is not exactly Columbus’ egg, but in 99 of 100 cases just a blurr 😉)
