Hello all,
I just purchased an old Yashica "tele-wide" viewfinder that I plan to use in the hotshoe of my digital compact. Anyway, this this is awfully yellow, almost like a metallic golden coating on the front element. Can any other owners of this viewfinder comment if this is normal, or does this need a "sunlight cure" to get the yellow out. Thanks.

That's just how it is. I like those little VF's. I use one in the shoe of my nikonos with the 35mm. Not perfect but good enough.

ok thanks, so I guess it's just a coating. The pictures I've seen of em seem pretty clear.

That's what is known as an Albada finder. The coating helps you see the bright framelines. They had folding ones for the Zeiss Contax.
