I have never been too keen on the effects of telephoto lenses .

Not sure why , but I am fine with a 50mm cropped to resemble 100mm , or 135 , again cropped to the field of view of a 270mm .
It may be that ASdee response to dee'stortion once again !

The telephoto effects appear less extreme .

This is true of the 40 - 150 of my 4/3rds zoom .

Am I imagining something , or as the film / sensor size diminishes is the effect altered from the 35mm frame size ?

I guess it's a daft question , but I have tended to stick to 35 - 100 with 35mm film cameras .

Basically using a tele and cropping is the same, Dee, for an optically ideal lens.

Then again sticking to wide/normal/short tele, like {28 or 35}/50/{90 or 100} is "old school" and works very well for me, too.
