"Tell 'em they're dreaming'!" or incredible eBay listings

Kevin Cameras is actually run/owned by a guy named Kevin. Used to deal with him years ago in the motion picture industry. He's an Asian gentleman who goes back home a few times a year and purchases quite a bit of camera equipment on each trip. He will occasionally have fairly rare items for sale, usually priced pretty high, and many of his items are in very good condition. There were occasional clunkers, but he is good about refunding when something is not as he described.

Best,

Kevin camera is one that I think is over the top in price on most items. You might hit n one once in a while but not often.

I've been looking at 35mm Summicrons lately. I've seen mint 35 asph sum microns go for less than a V4. I owned a V4 and a V1 for years and a Summilux from 68 that I bought NEW for $333. Sure everything goes up but!!! I sold my V1 for $800 some time back and thought that was more that they were worth. Now I've seen them for over $5K and saw a 35 summilux with goggles for $6K. The summilux wasn't made in huge quantities but the Summicrons were. They ARE NOT RARE!!! There's no magic pin any of these lenses!!! I owned a 50mm Noctilux 1.2 asph in the 70's. These are totally insane now. I'll admit they were produced in very small quantities so the collectors will pay anything for them but they're to great lenses. I found mine to be mediocre at best and traded it for a Summicorn DR and cash in the mid 70's.

I just bought a minty 90 Elmarit v1 from the 60's. Really beautiful images from these lenses. I've owned 3 before and regretted selling them for the latest and greatest.Shopping ebay I saw them for as much as $1800. Crazy!!! isn't? I bought a minty one for $359 today. That's what they go for on average for a chrome and mid $400's for a black minty.

I would think the dealers would research prices to see what things sell for and then price them. Obviously the dealers are looking for that sucker that's willing to pay the big bucks without doing any research.

I seriously doubt anybody can beat this auction for out and out insanity: http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLAROID-LA...780?pt=US_Vintage_Cameras&hash=item2a3bf83954

Somebody needs to make some calls and commit this guy. I can't even imagine what they must be like in real life.

OK you win!!! That's the best I've seen in a long time.

One of the best I saw years ago was a guy selling sheet film. He had partial box of 4x5 and opened it in daylight to photograph the sheets and count them. He sold them as new and unused.

Read his "Question and Answers". On the other hand, flashbulbs have become pretty rare. 😀
that answer is madder than the price. Hasn't he heard of The Impossible Project? Does the availability of film now make the cameras worth more, not his $1,000,000 nonsense?

Flashbulbs are not really rare. Not on ebay. Fortunately for users like me.
