Bought this today..., now that film is getting scarcer by the day, that sensors get better every day... Tell me I'm stupid!

Yes. You have started down a slippery slope. Sell them to me quickly before you decide you need a IIIc also, and a II and maybe a Leica 1.

Actually, enjoy. Looks like fun. Joe

In the spirit of helping our fellow human. I'm willing to help remedy the situation and take that gear off your hands. I have a great digital point and shoot that I'm sure you'll be much happier with. You'll fit in much better with the young crowd these days... Again, I'm very happy to help :)

Your diagnosis depends on price you paid :)
Also someone could say it's stupid to shell out money on latest pricey sensor-equipped gadgets.

That said no one worries how you spend your money. If it makes you feeling better - why not.

Looks perfectly reasonable to me, Huub, but then I share your affliction...:)

BTW, is that a Summar? It looks beautiful.

Thanks for the support guys.
They are:
Leica IIIb (1939), nice condition,
Leica 28mm Summaron (1957) + SOOBK hood, exc,
Leica Summar (1937), nice condition, good glass,
Leica 90mm Elmar all chrome (1947), pretty much used, but good glass,
Leica 135mm Hektor (1947), much used, some fungus etching (fungus now dead),
Leica VIOOH + 28mm wide attachment (nice),
I also got a couple of 36mm Leica filters, a FISON hood, ERC in need of stitching and a pretty worn dedicated Omnica case that fits the lot.

Let me know what you think this lot is worth and I'll know whether I did good or not ;)

Your lot is very ok. Summar, 28mm viewfinder, ALL chromed 90/4 and all the rest. Enjoy it and continue so.

You asked us to call you stupid. I'd oblige, but to be quite honest, I think you're very smart. :)

Now, go and put that nice kit to work!

Not stupid at all! That is a nice kit, particularly the Summaron 28f5.6 and the aux. finder for it - and the hood! One of the highest resolving lenses you can find - but also one of the lowest contrast lenses!
Good for you and now start buying some film. For a kit like that, go for a slw black and white, Efke 25 type - amazing look to it with the older lenses.

Congratulations, Huub!

The all-chrome Elmar 9cm is pretty rare.

The 28mm Summaron must be a great lens, I've never heard that it has low contrast.

Erik.

Efke 25, sigh. I miss Efke 25...
